THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON, our church will host Bloomington Pride?s LGBT Aging & Caring Network in Fellowship Hall for a pitch-in meal and pumpkin carving.? The group serves many senior LGBT community members 50 and older in our area, but guests of all ages are welcome to attend. Arrive at 4pm if you wish to bring a pumpkin and join others in carving fun.? Starting at 5pm there will be a pitch-in meal.? Guests are asked to bring a side dish to share. ALL SAINT?S DAY.? As part of our observance of All Saint’s Day on Sunday, November 4th, we are inviting people to bring candles to light in remembrance of loved ones. These can be for family members and friends, or other influential individuals. There will be a table on the side of the sanctuary to light and display the candles. People should take the candles with them at the end of the service.?

CHILDREN?S CHORUS FOR CANDLELIGHT COMMUNION.

Dust off your Christmas Ties and Dresses!? Candlelight Communion is being held at First United on Sunday, December 9, at 7 p.m.? All children – even little ones –are welcome to participate in the Children?s Chorus!? We will practice in the choir room right after church beginning November 4, and will continue to practice at that time until December 9.? Parents are welcome to stick around for the 15-20 minute rehearsal.? We are learning 3 simple pieces including the traditional Silent Night/Stille Nacht that concludes the time-honored tradition at our church.? TIME TO ORDER OUR BEAUTIFUL POINSETTIAS.? Brighten the church sanctuary with Holiday Poinsettias and support the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra! The BSO’s Annual Poinsettia Sale has begun! To order poinsettias to decorate the chancel during Advent and take home afterward, bring your check no later than Monday, November 18, made out to BSO Poinsettia 2018. Write “poinsettias” in the memo line. Each plant costs $13.00, beautifies the church, and supports the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. Your poinsettias may be picked up outside Fellowship Hall on Monday, December 16, if you would like to take them home. Please let the church office know if you would like to order one.?

PLAY FRIDAY: The next Play Friday is November 9 from 5:30-8:00pm. Join us for this family night that is fun for all ages. The usual pizza dinner will be served at 6:00pm. A theme of “Give and Take” will carry through November and December. Each month there will be an assortment of art and craft projects to create and give to friends and family, ex. card making, upcycled craft gifts, yarn crafts, and more. In November we will also be collecting food items for the Backpack Buddies program at Community Kitchen (donation requests include: peanut butter, meal helpers, fruit cups, instant oatmeal, dried fruit, and mac and cheese. ?FREE KOREAN YOGA (KUKSUNDO) CLASS. KukSunDo is a traditional Korean yoga and meditation for the mind, body, and spirit. You will practice cultivating your self-awareness through stretching, breathing and meditation. All movements are intentional, and the practice is a time to pause and focus on what is happening internally, spiritually, and physically. Just bring your yoga mat.
