Can I get married at First United Church?

Our facilities are open to our own members and couples who are not affiliated with our congregation. The clergy and staff from First United Church will be involved with your ceremony every step of the way. We are happy to work with couples who seek a meaningful ceremony grounded in an appreciation of the Holy. We are respectful of various faith traditions and are open to creating a service that will be meaningful for you and your guests.

The State of Indiana allows legally-binding ceremonies for same-sex couples, and our clergy are honored to be a part of ceremonies for same-sex couples.

Our clergy are also available to perform wedding ceremonies at other venues in the area. Please contact one of our ministers directly for off-site services.

How much will it cost?

Fees vary based on your relationship to our church and your needs, but here is a brief overview:

The basic fee for a wedding in our sanctuary starts at $725. There would be an additional cost for a rehearsal or reception. The sanctuary holds up to 350 people and has a state of the art sound system with capability for excellent audio recordings. The architectural style of our 1956 building is Mid-Century Modern, and the sanctuary features considerable natural light and wood.

Our smaller chapel is also available with a fee starting around $260 for clergy service only (no wedding coordinator and no music). The chapel holds a maximum of fifty people.

I’m interested. What’s next?

Your first step should be contacting our office manager. She can help answer any questions you have and check the calendar to see if our space and clergy are available on your wedding day. Once you’ve reserved the space, you can expect to meet with the minister one or two times for planning purposes. Although our ministers do not require premarital counseling, they can provide referrals to area counselors if requested. Our office manager is also able to show you around our space and help you become familiar with the building.
