Hi Friends,
If you’re like me, making the transition from wanting to do something about the big issues that face us to doing an action that will help is a tough step. I find myself wanting to do research to make sure I’m doing the most efficacious thing I can do, which can lead to long delays before I do anything. I have found it very helpful to listen to people who know more than I do about the topic, and to discuss concrete next steps.
All that to say, this is your personal invitation to the Board of Christian Educations’ Justice Forum called “Environmental Action—Close to Home and Beyond.” It’s tomorrow night on Zoom, and promises to be a wonderful program featuring a panel of people who have spent time studying the environmental issues facing Bloomington and beyond. I hope you can make it. Bring your questions, or come to be inspired!
Tuesday, April 20th, 6:30-8:00pm
Speakers:
Dave Rollo, Bloomington City Council Member, with service on the Environmental Commission and Sustainability Commission
Paula Brooks, Environmental Justice Coordinator, Hoosier Environmental Council
Mark Stosberg, “Bikes as Transportation” Blogger, “RideAmigos” for Smarter Commuter Solutions, Member of First United Church!
Starting questions: What are the most serious environmental challenges facing us in Bloomington, in Indiana, nationally, and beyond?
What actions can citizens take now to help meet these challenges locally and beyond?
Moderator: Rebecca Keith
