The Music Ministry at First United Church is pleased to present several wonderful offerings for the Advent Season this year. The Children’s Choir will offer two selections, the first being a classic African-American traditional hymn, Go Tell it on the Mountain. For the Candlelight and Carols service, they will sing Donald Swift’s “See the Little Baby.” We are so fortunate to have a vibrant children’s choir helmed by Rebecca Keith, and we all look forward to their contributions to the season.

The bell choir will offer two contrasting selections this year. The first will be for our Candlelight Carols service, performing the classic carol Ding Dong Merrily on High, arranged by Patricia Cota. We also look forward to the Bell Choir’s annual appearance at our beautiful Christmas Eve service later in the season, led by Assistant Director of Music Hansol Kim.

Finally, the vocal choir is pleased to present selections from George Frideric Handel’s iconic oratorio, Messiah, with soloist and First United Choral Scholar Sophie Choate singing soprano. In addition, we will present a traditional Spanish carol, “Riu, Riu, Chiu,” along with selections by Purcell, Hassler, and Yon.

We look forward to sharing this and other selections with you and yours this Advent Season, and Happy Thanksgiving.
