I’m writing this month’s installment of Monday Musings after an incredibly uplifting day. Sunday the 13th was outstanding in so many ways! Firstly, I was privileged to sing beside our talented section leaders in the offertory, Boykin’s Go Down Moses.
After our rehearsal I settled in for the service and tried to stay present with every aspect. Rachel Caswell read the scripture, which I didn’t recognize because it’s a version of the Bible with which I’m not very familiar (but probably should be). Rev Jessica gave a fun children’s moment followed by a most riveting sermon. The Big Takeaway: God is with us y’all, so help others. She ended the service by teaching us a terrific new hymn. Which side are you on? Freedom! Justice!
It was a toe-tapping Sunday morning for sure.
