SACRED CONVERSATION ON RACE.? Topics for our discussions on the issues of race and racism draw on many sources.? This Sunday June 12 we will show a 10-minute TED talk: ?How to Talk about Race?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UojLHDG_Y4w. The speaker, Eric Deggans, is an IU alumnus and author of Race-Baiter: How the Media Wields Dangerous Words to Divide a Nation (published 2012).? Please join the conversation to discuss how racism touches all of us ? every shade from dark to light.? We are meeting every other Sunday at 9:30 a.m.? SOLAR POWER UPDATE. We have contracted with Third Sun Solar to install the array on our rooftop, and we await word on where we are on their scheduling.

BUILDING AND GROUNDS NEW. ?The digging on the 3rd Street side of our church’s grounds is in conjunction with the lighting ?installation and entrance improvements underwritten by Hassel DePree’s gift to our church. ?In July, our sanctuary will become a construction zone as the sound booth console cabinet is installed. ?Nancy Hiller will build the cabinet.?

THE TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS will continue through the summer. Anyone wishing to stop by and check it out is welcome. The class meets from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30a.m.?

ARE YOU CERTIFIED IN CPR? If you are certified, we are looking for you. We need a few people who are certified and willing to help in the event that someone in the church might need CPR, while we have an AED, (and need people to learn how to use that too) it would be nice to have a list kept where the Sunday ushers could get it. If you wouldn?t mind being on the list, please let the church office know. Thank you.?

LOOKING FOR CHILDREN’S LEARNING TIME TEACHERS.? Do you like working with kids aged 3-12?? Do you have a passion for helping children learn how to live well with others?? Do you find fulfillment in teaching children about our shared faith and this amazing world we live in?? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we may have a teaching opportunity for you!? GROUND KEEPING. Have you ever wished you had a large home with great grounds to putter in? ?You do. SIGN UP FOR FLOWERS.? The flower sign-up book is on a table by the kitchen, just waiting for you to choose a date. You will be sent a reminder letter in time to get your dedication in the bulletin.

April through October flowers for the sanctuary will be sourced from a local grower, the cost is $40. ? If you prefer to provide your own flowers or wish to have them provided by Marsh (the cost will remain $35.00 per bouquet)?or another source, let the church office or Pat Martin know a week in advance.

?COFFEE HOUR HOSTS NEEDED.? We are in need of coffee hour hosts. All the supplies are provided, grab a friend, or someone new to partner with you. It is a great way to provide a service to the church and encourage a sense of community. Won?t you sign up?

MINISTER OF CARE FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 12 IS DOUG PETERSEN.? A minister of care is a church volunteer who visits members in their homes.
