Budget Hearing.
A budget hearing will be held in Room 6 after worship on Sunday, January 12. This is a time for those interested to gain information on the latest draft of the 2020 income and expense budget, provide feedback, and ask questions. The Congregational vote on the finalized budget will be after worship on Sunday, January 26.
Our Whole Lives will be postponed to summer or fall due to low enrollment. Please contact Jennifer Fultz (mrsjenniferfultz@gmail.com) if you have students who are interested so we can discuss future scheduling. Thank you!
Preventing and Reversing Chronic Disease On Sunday, January 12th from 1:00 to 3:00, there will be a whole food, plant-based potluck in Room 6 followed by a presentation. Leaders of a local Reversing Diabetes program will share successes of preventing and reversing chronic disease using diet and lifestyle.
For the potluck, bring a vegan dish with no added oil. Contact Mark Stosberg with questions (765) 277-1916.
DISCERNMENT SESSIONS continue …Members and friends of First United Church are invited into
a time of communal discernment through prayer, conversation and intentional listening to
gather information for creating a church profile which will be used in the search process for
calling your next settled Senior Minister.
We hope you’ll carve out a couple of hours to participate in at least one gathering from each
of the Discernment Sessions. The next session is this Sunday, January 5,
2020, 12:00-2:00pm in Fellowship Hall. . If childcare is needed for one of the upcoming Sunday discernment meetings please email me at molly.koontz@yahoo.com.

MCUM food pantry.
For January please bring the following nonperishable food items to our church pantry for MCUM:
Canned meats (tuna, chicken, beef), Peanut butter , Dried pasta, Cereal, Ready to eat soup, chili, and/or pasta
Canned vegetables (carrots, greens, potatoes), Crackers
Offering Envelopes Ready For Pick Up. You will find the 2020 offering envelopes on a small table, outside of the sanctuary doors. Your name will be on the box. Please pick up your envelopes.
If you are new or don’t have envelopes yet, there are some new ones to pick from. Please place your name and envelope number on the piece of paper beside the offering envelopes. Thank you.
Tuesday Morning Discussion. Our first meeting in the New Year will be on Jan.7th, when we will decide on our next video series. If you are free from 10 to 11:30 am on Tuesdays, we hope you can join us! Please see Derek Roe with questions.
Soliciting church programs (bulletins). Traveling over the holidays and worshiping elsewhere? The Committee on Community Development would like to see church bulletins from other congregations as we consider the insert and announcement section of First United Church’s programs in the new year.
