REMINDER: PLAY FRIDAY IS TONIGHT, April 13th. We are having a Euchre tournament and it is not too late to come! Email me at hopi@stosberg.com to let me know you are coming, or just show up tonight! Play Friday is a recurring family friendly game and fun night for all ages every 2nd Friday from 5:30-8. Pizza will come at 6, Euchre starts ~6:30. If you don’t play Euchre, we can set up a beginners table to learn, you could spectate, or you could play one of the other numerous games (or just hang out!). It should be a beautiful evening, so the kids can get their energy out on the playground! I look forward to seeing you there! Let me know if you have any questions.

CCD FELLOWSHIP CAMPAIGN. In an effort to build our collective skills in “doing church,” the Committee on Community Development will be highlighting items we can do to make First United Church the nurturing church home we want it to be.  These short messages begin today with John Spain, convener of the CCD, and they will continue for several springtime Sundays.

THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE (NC) is working to fill vacancies on the Boards in preparation for this year’s elections.    The Council has set May 6 as the date the congregation will vote to elect the nominated slate; thus the closing date for nominations from the congregation is April 29th.  According to the By-laws:  “Members of the congregation may submit nominations for church offices to the Nominating Committee during the period from the announcement of the Nominating Committee until one week prior to the election. Nominations from the congregation must be made in writing. Persons nominated by the congregation must declare their willingness to serve before they can be placed on the ballot.”

We would welcome your input.  Self-nominations are always appropriate.  You may send your nomination on/before April 29 to any of the NC members:  Pat Martin (Co-Chair), pat0304martin@comcast.net; Sara Ivey Lucas (Co-Chair), sivey@indiana.edu; Laura Kao: laura_b_kao@hotmail.com; Sam Troxal: stroxal@yahoo.com; Hallie Devido: halharmo@indiana.edu; and Hopi Stosberg hopi@stosberg.com.

FRIDAYS AT FIRST UNITED
