Our Whole Lives

life span sexuality education

is postponed until we decide how to reschedule.

If you or your student are interested, please contact Jennifer Fultz to discuss scheduling!

Our Whole Lives is a comprehensive values-based sexuality education curriculum. While the curriculum was developed by the United Church of Christ and Unitarian Universalist Association, the program is completely secular.

First United Church will be offering an Our Whole Lives program for students in grades 7-9. Classes will take place twice a month in mixed gender groups.

Because of the vulnerability inherent in conversations about sexuality, it is critical that the group trust one another and the facilitators. Consistent attendance is important in building that sense of trust and community. We therefore ask participants and their families to commit to attending the entire program.

All meetings will take place between 3-4:30 pm in Roger Williams Hall at First United Church unless otherwise noted.

You may register your student(s) at a mandatory parent/guardian orientation held on January 5, 2020 from 2:30-4:30 pm. During this orientation, facilitators will explain the underlying values and teaching approach of Our Whole Lives, show you some of the learning materials, and answer any questions. It is the policy of First United Church that all parents/guardians sign the Our Whole Lives program permission slip, but only one parent/guardian needs to attend the orientation.

Registration costs $25 and will cover materials and snacks for participants. Scholarships are available for those who need them. Please contact facilitator Jennifer Duann Fultz (mrsjenniferfultz@gmail.com) if you have any questions.
