DESCRIPTION:Tuesday Morning Café and Discussion \nJoin us in Roger Williams Hall or via Zoom (click here) Tuesdays at 10am-11:30am as we gather for a time of informal conversation followed by thought-provoking theological study and discussion. We recently began a new 24-sesson study: “Jesus and His Jewish Influencers” presented by Jodi Magness. Follow an acclaimed archaeologist to unearth the roots of Jesus’s actions and teachings within the traditions of early Judaism. This fascinating course approaches the subject from a historical\, rather than scriptural\, perspective; one rooted in ancient texts and archaeological discoveries. Discover hidden insights into how the tumultuous events of Jewish history shaped an individual whose legacy endures to this day. Learn more about the series here. Previous participation and perfect attendance are not required.

SUMMARY:Racial Justice Lunch & Learns: The 1619 Project
DESCRIPTION:Racial Justice Lunch & Learns: The 1619 Project \nJoin us for a Racial Justice Lunch and Learn via Zoom (click here) (and at noon on the first and third Thursdays of each month). Through July\, the group will explore the New York Times Magazine 1619 Project (published in 2019). There was no reading required prior to the first conversation as that session served as an introduction and orientation to the five sessions to come. If you would like to participate\, contact Pastor Jessica\, and she will share the reading schedule with links to access the reading (available free of charge) and questions to consider as you read. Please consider joining in these faithful conversations about the 1619 Project as we continue to seek the truth of our history and how it continues to shape our lives and structures today and\, of course\, discern ways we can enact justice.
