Join us in a monthly conversation to share your unique experiences and perspective on

spirituality in your daily life. This is the first guest speaker out of our Christian congregation.  We can deepen and widen our spirituality in Jesus through understanding different

within 45 minutes, and then open up the floor for questions and discussion. The tone of

Centering Prayer Embraces Summer

The cool quiet of the First United chapel is perfect for summertime contemplation. In keeping with the laid back tempo of summer in Bloomington, some Sunday mornings there will be some quiet music and a reading. Other times the space will be just quiet. Candles and meditations are always there for you. All that is really required for you to seek the presence of God is you. Sundays from 9:45 – 10:15am.

Join First United’s website Directory! You can now create a profile for yourself in the secure online directory, access member-only files, and RSVP for events. You can still see weekly announcements and listen to sermon recordings too. To register, please go to http://www.firstuc.org/register. To see an instructional video for how to fill out your profile, please go to http://bit.ly/JoinFirstUC.

Sunday Flower Announcement The sign-up book for 2019 flower donations is available in the lobby of Fellowship Hall.  We are looking pretty sparse for the upcoming summer months.  Your donations are appreciated and the flowers are yours to take home following worship.  Please sign up.  Cost $40. Thanks.

Upcoming Play Friday Events.

July Play Friday: The next Play Friday in on Friday, July 12 from 5:30-8 in Fellowship Hall. Play Friday is a recurring game and activity night at First United Church. Dinner is served at 6. We offer vegetarian and vegan options. Come spend a relaxed evening playing your favorite games, hanging out with friends, and creating. This is an evening of fun for all ages. We hope to see you there. It helps with food planning if you RSVP to Hopi Stosberg at hopi@stosberg.com or to the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/889929874689234/

Nametags.

In the pew registry visitors will find paper name tags which they are invited to use.  If you would like a more permanent name tag which attaches by magnet, please make a note in the pew registry or see Florence Shelton or one of the ushers.  Long-term First United Church people, if you have a name tag, please wear it.  They’re so helpful, in learning who is who.  Your Committee on Community Development thanks you!

Bringing Joy To Jail Inmates.

Did you know that a small but dedicated group of First United folks brings a little joy into the local jail by performing Jail BINGO twice a month?  We are looking for folks that can commit to two hours for one Tuesday per month to let their inner game show host shine.  Will you help?  It is very easy but it can be a little intimidating at first.

After getting over that bump you will quickly see the joy in the faces of the inmates as you bring them treats, needed hygiene items, snacks and some fun.  Please talk to or email Dave Meyer (dwm@davemeyer.org), the organizer.

Free Korean Yoga (Kuksundo) Class. KukSunDo is a traditional Korean yoga and meditation for the mind, body, and spirit. Just bring your yoga mat.
