SACRED CONVERSATION ON RACE.? Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson, Missouri on August 9th, 2014.? His death and subsequent revelations of widespread unjust practices against people of color have changed our country.? On Sunday August 7, the Sacred Conversation on Race will look at those revelations and changes–and the changes that still need to happen.? You are invited to be a part of that conversation.? We hope to see you before church next week.? The conversation begins at 9:30 in Room 6.???

SCRIPTURE READERS NEEDED FOR AUGUST 21, AND ALL OF SEPTEMBER.?Reading the?Sunday?scripture is a great way to contribute to the?worship service. You will be given the scripture reading on Friday. Please sign up or contact the church office.??

UPDATE FROM BUILDING AND GROUNDS. The lights along the 3rd Street drive underwritten by the will of?Hassel DePree are now installed. ? Have you noticed that the sign by the Woodscrest Entrance has been replaced with a bolder-faced sign? ?Again, thanks to Hassel. ?John Turner of 5daughters is installing dimmer switches for our sanctuary lighting so that we no longer have to turn lights on and off at the breaker box. ?Cabinetmaker?Nancy Hiller is building the sound control booth for the improved?audio equipment?we will be installing in the sanctuary with the Petranoff gift. John Turner has the platform ready for Nancy’s cherry wood cabinet.?

SOLAR PANEL UPDATE. We are awaiting late August, early September install on our solar panels. ?The install will take about 3 weeks.?

THE TUESDAY MORNING ADULT DISCUSSION GROUP will continue thru the summer months this year. Anyone wishing to stop by and check it out is welcome. The class meets from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30a.m.?
